Hi everyone, I have a question about the growth of Jack Dempsey. I currently have a 3" JD in a heavily planted 5.5g tank. I know it is wrong to do this but I won't be allowed to get a 55g for him until 2 month later. My question is during the next two months, will the JD get stunted and not grow to his full potential size?

Leave the cave, it's probably comfortable in it.

Yep leave the cave, they like em. When I was raising my JD's I got a half-dozen 1 inchers and grew them out in a 55, just waiting for them to pair off, and they loved the flowerpots and hollow cavey stuff. They were a lot of fun to watch too, chasing each other in & out of the caves.

JD's are the coolest.

My 8" JD is absolutely gorgeous and always wins in a lip lock verse my 10" jag.

Yeah JD is the coolest fish I've kept so far. He is showing the best colouration I've seen on a JD although he's only 3". He goes crazy whenever sees the food container and sometimes bite me on the finger when he's hungry. Really smart fish.:D

Not that I don't want to get it, but my parents says when we move two month later it will be too much trouble. I will put him in one of my tubs if that will do him any good, he seems really happy in his tank though.
