Will mbuna cichlids nibble my sponge filter?

I have a jumbo sponge filter in my 75 gallon mbuna tank. i notice that some of my mbuna cichlid try to bite it. i am concern in the long term, what are your experience about this? should i change my filter to k1 canister?

Welcome aboard
The Mbuna cichlids are feeding off the tidbits on the sponge. I really wouldn't worry about it if you're feeding them enough food.
