will my heater burn through my sump?

both the same pics of the sump so if i set it in that empty spot ( well my power head is sitting there bringing water to my tank ) or will it melt the sump?

I see your concern with the thin plastic and all but it should be fine.To give piece of mind,get a piece of slate to lay the heater on,that would keep it from touching the plastic floor of the sump.

I just thought of something else,the suction cups that come with the heater should do the same thing if you position them properly.I thought of getting one of these units but have'nt gotten one yet.

You should be able to buy some extras at a good lfs,if not then get yourself some slate.

Only a concern if you need softwater.
