Will my SH regrow its tail? Is there a way to for me to help it? Thanks

I have a red maruliodes who got his tail bitten of by another red maru at a LFS. His pattern is really great and i just fell in love with him and took him even without his tail, will it still grow back? I've been treating him with melafix for a month now and i aee some white starting to shoe on its tail end

If there's a small amount of fin tissue where the caudal should be, it should be able to grow back, at least partially. If not, I doubt the chances of regrowth. I can't really tell from the images, unfortunately.

I really can't tell if its starting to grow but i see some white tissue starting to sprout hmmm ughh

I can’t tell from the pics but if the injury was past the fins and into the caudal peduncle, it likely won’t grow back. Hope it grows back for you.

Update: his tail never grew back but on the positive note it's doing great, i just hope that his dorsal and anal fins meet to form like a heart shape hahaha
