I have been using seachems stability since I switched tanks and experienced an ammonia spike(I left the under gravel and gravel in the other tank big mistake.) Anyways im using seachems stability and I have a UV hooked up will this impact my Seachem stability negatively ? Would it help to shut it off for an hour while the stability settles?

Really nothing yet?

You have to consult Seachem. For all I know, UV can break down chemical from medicine, make it toxic for fish.

Well thats kinda what UV does, it will kill anything with enough exposure. The general purpose of a UV is to sterilize hence the term UV sterilizer, so any free floating life i.e. beneficial bacteria, algae spores, etc... that has not adhered to anything yet and sucked into the sterilizer will be killed.

The uv will kill any microorganism which is circulating freely within the tank. I would turn off the uv for the entire approx. 8 day cycling period.

yep.. the magic light will kill the magic in the bottle

Its for disease prevention mainly but im running in to ich it looks like I cross contaminated from my community tank :( But I just set this tank up with all the old filters it had on it and same fish. But I added a few 10 days after setting it up and an ammonia spike hit so im using the seachem stability.

PS I feel like a tool it says to turn off UV on the bottle sorry for the dumbass mistake guys.

And magic in a bottle it is :D

Alleged bacteria in the bottle = magic

Wonder how they get their nourishment while in the bottle with little circulation, ammonia source, etc.
