I want to make him really red, or as red as possible, i know people have said that the Kok enhancers are fake and don't work, not sure about this stuff, i don't really like big kok anyway and prefer the colours.

Have i waisted my money? will it work? etc

Wow. Are SRT blood parrots common in asia?

This is really weird but Rex's colour has improved and his Kok seems to have grown over night since feeding him the new food :O

there's nothing that will make him more red than his genetic makeup allows him. You will see a shift between dull red and a darker red all the time, it isn't uncommon which is why you can't use foods to discern a difference. At his size you should have seen his potential "best" colors regardless of the food you feed him. Some days my flowerhorn looks dull and drab and other days his red is very rich. Like someone stated before, clean water and a good staple pellet will go a long way. Check the protein % on the bag of food. You don't want to feed flowerhorns high protein foods, it will cause problems.

well it don't sound bad nutrient wise so keep using it since you've already bought it. By the time you've finished all your bags, if you don't see improvement, well you got your answer. =P. Astaxanthin is the one used to promote reds. It's a cartenoid and is commonly found in shrimp and crustaceans. At least your food isn't packed with 50% or more protein like a lot of the other gimmick flowerhorn foods. Also it takes months of feeding strict regiment to even be able to conclude that something has worked or hasn't. And all of the variables must be the same. Water changes, no special treat foods, etc.
