Will sand cause any effect if swallowed???

i don't know much about turtle
but most fish.. when eatting happen to swallow a lil
dirt, but they usually sift it out through their gills

A turtle can handle any sand it swallows, Lace or lava rock is very abrasive, I would not use it.
