all my syns are mild,i started to see alot of color chances around the 10 to 12 month mark, now at a year and ahlf all mine seem to have exploded in color. (hint alot of veggies in their diet brings out their colors,all mine love romaine lettuce and peas)i also fed spirulina pellets,krill,hakiri gold(every day),shrimp pellets,cichlid excel.my pair bonded at 8 months but took awhile to spawn so it depends, good food and clean water will work wonders.
