Hey guys, i am building a 700+ gallon (notice how i put a + in there... Ik 700 is way to small...) and i need to decide stock BEFORE I build the tank because some fish need a bigger base then others... ANYWAYS, i want to doa )v(onster catfish tank... Will the following stock work together???
Here is the list:

1x RTC
1x TSN
1x RTCxTSN
2x PACU
2x PBASS

what I need to know is, will the cats eat the other fish???

What is the minimum tanksize for these fish together

(Would a 1500 work??? If i only got 2of the cats)

And, if i go this route, should i add the pbass first, let them grow, thenadd the cats later on???

well some people say you need 1000+ gallon talk to keep an SA RTC for life. The RTCxTSN grows faster and larger than the SA RTC and the TSN will get 3'+ id say ideally a 2500+g. thats a massive tank and you'd still be squeezed

which two? that hybrid will definitely reach 4' I reckon. They grow very quick too! If it's just two, I reckon 1500-2000g will do very nicely. you'd probably be able to get more than just two pacu and pbass. The pacu and pbass will need to be full grown to avoid being snacked on by the rtc. Although when the rtc gets 3'+, chances are they'll still be snacked on

So, if I only got ONE tiger shovelnose and that is all, you are saying tiger shovelnose will not eat everything like a RTC??? If that is true, can I keep a TSN with a motoro ray???

One quote you should always remember is "Never trust a catfish" lol TSN is a predatory catfish and so once it reaches 3' it will try I reckon... you'll have that problem with all these large cats

Nice quote! But, in general, do TSN Have as big an appetite as RTC? I figure with their weird shaped mouth it doesn't open quite as big???

Tsn cannot eat prey items as large as RTC, correct. As for the original post, in TL's monster pond his pbass were eaten but the pacu are still alive although he has 4' RTC and 6' Pimas.
