So I currently have a 6 inch nicaraguanse female and a 4 inch jack dempsey female (recently added) in a 35g tank.

I was a rehome guy for a 6 inch flowerhorn and a 7 inch red devil today, both unsexed.

Is there a good chance the 4 could coexist in an 80 gallon?

my guess is the red devil or flower horn will battle it out for whos boss then the rest are hisrtory.

+1

80 gallons is way too small for when the FH is full grown..adding the RD, and a JD, AND the nicara is like playing gladiators in Rome's colosseum.

In a 80 no way. The 80 is ok for the red devil by itself or the flowerhorn by itself. The jd and nice could maybe coexist but a bigger tank would be better

I meant more so as a temp home. FH and RD coexist in the tank they're coming from. Between there and home, they were in a 20g together and they were fine, but the RD didn't let the FH forget that it was boss. Both came from a tank of 4-6" assorted Africans. Ideally, I'm not prepared to house the RD permanently but the FH was beginning to beat on Africans and they were a package deal lol.

No, actually there is a good chance the 4 will not coexist in an 80. Short term (1-2 months) maybe, but long term no.

The short answer, IMO only, is no, it will not work in 80 gallons. Even minus the RD, that FH may take out your JD and Nic. IMO, Flowerhorns are solitary fish. As stated above, you might be fine with the Nic and JD in the 80 long term, but I would not think it would work once either or both the RD and FH are added. You said the FH was already beating on the Africans, which are some pretty fast fish, it will prolly just do the same to the Nic and JD after a little while too. Good luck!!

Ok... minus red devil then? I'd be glad to see 1 month. I'm seeking a nicaraguan male for her.

Minus the rd. 1 month may work or the flower may beat the JD and Nic to death within two weeks. You never know with flowerhorns and you did say it was beating on African which are much harder to get than the average Nic or JD
