will these fish get along in a 55 gallon community

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Gotta make sure the gouriamis are adult in size. I've had poly with gouriamis before w/o any issues. But all my polys were well fed.

The Senegalus could be shouldn't look at them as food. The gouriamis are to long in height to get bothered. Feed with pellets and that'll help.
which one?...if the Bichir then I already go him eaten pellets and a few flakes but the angle always eats the food when its on the floor o I have to overfeed the tank just to make sure the Senegal gets a lot and what form of bloodworms sinks? I have dried which floats and frozen.

You may want to try cut up tilapia, shrimp, and beef heart. Those are good options. That'll help to increase his size.

The fire mouth should be added later till the others are bigger or not at all. That might be the only one I wouldn't add.

Fire mouths can be territorial and agressive toward smaller tankmates. Usually they get along with other fish but Some smaller Polypterus may not fair well with some cichlids. That's my reluctance.

correct me if im wrong but don't Senegal Bichir get to like 10-12 inches and a fire mouth only gets to 5-6 inches? and the only smaller fish would be the rainbow cichlid am I right? and thanks for your opinion.

Most Senegalus get 8-10 inches. It will plateau at 6 inches for a while. So it might be a problem. Yea fire mouth get like 6 inches so just hope u got some decor/plants to occupy everyone.

so what would the problem be the sengeal being to small ? and all the fish I plan to get will be small so I can watch them grow accept the angle and how big do rainbow cichlids get because different websites say different things?

Well the concern is fire mouth may pick on it. As long you feel u can care and watch out for the fish then go ahead. Rainbows don't bigger than 3inches.
