ok so i redid the list for my 125 biotope. here it is. i figured i would just go with some fish i was told to get and mix in some fish of my choice:
2 jack demseys (females)
1blood parrot ( i would love to have 2 if i could?)
1 bristlenose pleco
1 red tail cuda
1 green terror
1 texas cichlid
3 pictus catfish
1 convict cichlid (he is still a maybe)
and i was also looking for another pleco around 4-8 inches. i was thinkin royal or farowola(i know i spelled it wrong it is a whiptail/twig catfish). i could also do another bristlenose. any suggestions? and am i alowed to call it a biotope with the hybid blood parrot(s) in it. the original list had an indian toadfish and was flamed for calling it a biotope...

no even without the hybrids it still wouldnt be a biotope, a biotope is a tank that only has fish from a specific area that would naturally live together in the wild. i personally would leave out the blood parrot but if you like them and must have one, then you should still just stick to one and leave out the con, how big do the red tail cuda get? are those the same as a red tail chalceus? if so then it should be ok but it will be a bit overstocked so you will have to keep a close eye out on your water parameters and do lots of water changes, also keep a close look out for aggression as it will most likely arise as the fish mature. you were wanting to do all females right? if so then it may not be as big of an issue since they stay smaller but still have a close eye on them, especially on the parrot as they usually have big attitudes but cant back it up due to their deformities so it can very easily get picked on by the others

Red Tail Chalceus get bigger and more robust than A. Falcatus and probably a better choice for large aggressive cichlids as cudas aren't able to withstand a lot of abuse or stress. Falcatus also usually don't eat prepared foods meaning the cichlids will more than likely decimate his food supply were as Chalceus will eat anything. Also Biotope wouldn't just include Fish from the same region it would also include plant material, substrate, and decor. ie; driftwood, sand, and rocks from the actual location. However your stock is suitable for the volume of water.

ya the cuda is a. altus not falcatus. they are more aggresive and faster, about 5-9 inches also. i l\ove the parrot. and all the cichlids except the blood parrot will be female. thanks for the info on the biotope stuff. thnx anything else i should know. i will be using a fx5 a hang on back pro series by magnum and an eheim 2217.

on a 125 a single fx5 is already overkill you shouldn't have to run any other filters besides the fx5, i wouldnt make things harder on yourself than you have to. and then just do your water changes, but yeah good luck!! make sure to post pics once you have everything set up :)

you got it. it should be up in 2-2 1/2 months time. the lfs is still ordering some of the fish i want.
