I was just wondering if and when I get a bigger tank if I could keep my mollies and a betta in the same tank together or will they not get along? I'm not sure of the size of tank yet any ideas of what size if they will go together?

I have kept mollies with 1 male betta before with no problems:)

You could probably get away with 15g or so, possibly smaller. Bigger is always better though:D

well I currently have a ten gallon with 3 fish that are currenly about 2 months old. Any certain age that I will have to wait for until I can put that betta in so he doesn't eat them?

2 mollies and a betta should do fine in a 10g for life, but watch for aggression as they age, the betta sometimes gets nuts but will never actually eat mollies, might beat the crap out of them, but won't eat them.

So I could put a male betta in at any time and dont have to wait for the mollies to be a certain age? but I have 3 mollies, one that is still quite small but is doing well and the other two well there are getting big.

Should I be considering a male with these mollies or a female? I know that males are much more "prettier" to look at but also know that they can be aggressive. What would be better male or female?

There is a misconception that bettas will kill anything and everyone. They are pretty peaceful when it comes to other fish. I would worry more about the other fish nipping at the betta's fins more than the betta attacking other fish. Males will kill another male betta and females after breeding. Females can live together provided that the tank has good amount of space and hiding spaces. And there's more than 2 to spread out the aggression.

Well thanks. Are they going to be any different to take care of then my mollies? are there any special instructions or anything that I will need to know before getting a betta to add some color to my tank, since its all dark (black mollies)
