What about going from smelt to pellets? I have my bass on smelt but am getting sick of having to thaw and prep their food. I also now that good pellets = heathier fish. Anyone want to share their experience going from fresh dead to pellets? Can I starve them into eating pellets?
i only have one pbass that eats pellets. My temensis. I can get my big ocell to hit them but he just spits them out. For now im fine with having them eat silversides and tilapia and market shrimp. I have no desire to go to pellets yet. if you find a good method let us know
You can also try frozen feeders. Drop some feeders in, then a frozen feeder. Gradually go to more frozen feeders, then start mixing in silver sides. This worked for my cb Mono and wc Pinima, wc Kelberi. Now they are eating mostly shrimp.

ime, i use cut silversides and live feeders, i would just take a couple of cut silver pieces and put only 3-5 feeders at a time, i did that for a week and then just subsituted the feeders for all cut silversides. when my bass got use to the silvers, i just stuffed pellets into the cut silvers and fed them that way too.
