Will they still bond?

They should be fine I've seen at least 2 pairs form at various pet supplies, I've also seen recently n. Tetracanthus in mixed African cichlids tanks as of late...

Beautiful fish. I had a breeding pair who tried spawning three times but ate their eggs and male got very mean. I put him back into my main tank and had the female in her own tank for months. I put her back in the main tank and now they're breeding again in there. So love does go a long way lol it's funny to see my female bonsai Flowerhorn pick at fish 5 times her size. The bond is strong but I've had males fertilize more than one females eggs.
