I am cycling a 110 gallon tall tank right now. I am in mid-cycle. I have a Pro II that is established on my 120. I can move it over. There is plenty of other filtration on the 120.

Here is the problem and my idea. I can not hook the filter up in the customary way because of the way the top is made. I would have to fit some PVC to make it work. What I was thinking, was can put the canister on my sump. The way mine is made, were mine drops in, there is a small resivoir which overflows into the bio section. I want to run the canister into the resivoir. What do you think??? Or should I just let it continue as it is?

Adding an established filter will help yes. The problem may come into play if the canister is sitting at the same level as the W/D.
Most cans are designed to be lower than the "tank".
At the same level, it may have trouble pulling water, as there is not enough height for the siphon effect to help out on the intake side.

Fishless cycle? If so then you can add the established filter and free the tank more ammonia, other wise the established filter will use up more nutrients than the cycling filter and prolong the cycle, or possibly crash both filters if there's not enough food for both.

You can put some of the old filter media in the new filter tho.

Thanks Dr. Joe. I am getting a little impatient. I have eight Discus that are going in this tank and they are getting a little aggressive in their small tank.

Keep the lights down on the discus tank and keep them well fed, maybe read them a story .

Since Discus are so touchy, in this case patience is a virtue.

Thats erxactly what I would and do do. However I would say your taking a bit of a risk putting them in a new tank IMO.
