Thanks for the input everyone. I did buy him for a great price anyway. So even if he is not pure bred I am not upset. I plan on buying a leopoldi in the near future to put in the tank with him as well.

If I wanted another brown ray i would have bought another motoro for 100 bucks. I was hoping it would be more black then brown

Looks like you did buy another brown ray . I didn't want to be rude but I'm certian that ray is a motoro or motoro hen hybrid. Most likely a dark color motoro . Exporters call them peru Leopoldi .

And I did not say brown ray I said grey ray.if you wanted a black ray buy a Leopoldi it's the only ray that's always black
