i would get the sand from a local LPS.

Just got to home depot, lowes, or menards. You can get bigger bags for a lot less. Even the 60lbs tube sand for for $4-6 a tube works well. Just have to rinse it well.

Look into Estes' Sand I have black in my tank looks great I think.

If you have a northern tool in your area, you can pick up some black diamond blasting sand. I have had it for over a year without any problems. Here's a pic of my tank:

Costs about $15 per 50lb bag.
