Butterflys will get eaten, get a bigger spiny eel like a tire track and the angels may get nipped at. I'd suggest a more mellow Hydrolycus species than redtails, they're nippy.
I think firemouths are large enough and tough enough to stand their own ground, but would they be to agressive. Also, i doubt i can even find a paraya (red tail) as all i can usually find are scombs (which i hear usually die easiliy at large sizes.
So what i will most likly have is...
3-4 red tail or hujeta barracuda
1-2 bichers
3 angelfish 3- fire mouth cichlids
cuddas are mid to top swimmers and bicher bottom swimmers while angels and firemouths would be mid to lower swimmers.
Tap water pH is about 7.2 i think it was. Filtration is xp3 and eheim 2217. I also have a penguin 250 Hob on it. Eventually i want to add my spare ac 500 to the tank, but right now theres not enough room at the back of the tank (as cannister tubing doesnt need much room and the ac was bought for a 65g which i took down and i dont want it at the front ofr the tank.
Another question is how will bichers be with crypy and dwarf sag plants as right now i have probably1-2ft square of crypts and just got some dwarf sag thats taking off. I plan to plant about 4ft with crypts and sag then leave the last 2ft as bare sand. There are farily hardy plants so i think they wont be damaged too much, but i want to make sure as ive never had a bottom dcweller with as much plants as i want
this species of paraya is said to get to only 12inches which is why i want it, but other species can get a couple feet. Angels shredded by what? They arnt as delicate as you think. I know theres a chance when the cudda is 10", but i dont thin there will be a problem when its smaller. They are ambush predators that will either eat fins and scales or just fish small enough to fit into its mouth, where angels are much too large. Do you have any barracuda experience?
