Here's one for thirty bucks.

It is quite minimal, if it will work at all. I couldn't find a pump curve for it. The rated flow is at zero feet of head. They don't have a pump curve for it and won't give up the max head, which makes me very suspicious. If its max head is five feet (seen it before), it will not pump water into your tank.

So I should not consider a pump like this?

I need to buy a rio?

Sump pumps are not meant for continuous duty. I'm sure you dont want a failure down the road. Buy a pump designed for aquariums / ponds ......NOT leaky basements.

JMO of course.......

The link is dead...

Go buy the one at HD. You can return it if it does not pump high enough. Set up two five gallon buckets and a ladder. Set up one of the buckets on the ladder at tank height and fill the one on the ground. Time how long it takes to pump the water to the higher bucket, and then calculate what volume it is pumping. Then take it back and buy the one on eBay :grinno:

Use a pond or a tank pump, those sump pumps arent continuos duty and the power consumption will be much higher
