well thx for the input everybody! :)

well i've decided to go for it. been busy emptying out my 3ft x 2 x 2. and put ehieme 2260 bucket x2, a massive air pump, and a UV in out of the outlet from the 2260.

and i've stocked it up all today. as follows: -

Red devil (male) 10-11"
Jag (male) 8"
Flower Horn (male) 11"
Flower Horn (not sure) 5"
Oscar-Tiger 13"
Oscar-Albino 9"
Butti 9"

water reading are as follows:-
Ammo - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - below 20
Temp 26*C

* 20% water change per day*

All i have in the tank at the moment is just a big bog wood (as planned) and a 12" air stone.
and i added a fuval internal 4+ for added oxgyen and water movement.

so far so good, the dominate fish out of them all are the red devil, flower, butti and the jag. nothing much, just the kiss chase now and then. nothing really serious.

each of the fish comes from different petshop/seller. so they haven't meet each other before.

if thing doesn't turn out the way i want, i've got many tanks/setups.
how ever, if things are going well i will move them into a larger tank 5x3x2 and have it heavy filtration and increase the number of fish.

will take a few pic tonight when i get home for updates :)

OK Homeboy, its been a few days lets see some pics of the tank. Prove them right or prove them wrong, but dont hide.

GMFB the guy keeps rays and arowanas and you don't think he knows anything about bioloadYou:screwy::ROFL: think maybe he is asking the question to maybe just find out others opinions on the matter? Maybe just to start a conversation with others who actually have experience in the matter, which you seem to be lacking. IMO by the way he is going at it he actually has a very good idea what he is doing.

thx Bderick, i guess thats all the support i will get lol

righty people here is some updates!!

so far everything is working out fine.
the most domin fish has to be the red devil, in the first few days every fish try to get to the top of the picking order, but one fish shine brighter than the rest. The red devil came out on top.

there is the odd picking now and then but nothing serious at all, all the fish have perfect to near perfect fins, there was a few scales missing but nothing major. (as you can see in the following pictures!)

how ever, i did notice that the larger oscar was not up for the job. he didn't return/pick on any fish and i have now removed him. however, having said that the smaller oscar(albino) is doing very well! he returns the odd picking and now have seem to be fully settle down.

so, right now the fish stocking are as follows:-

Red devil (male) 10-11"
Jag (male) 10"
Flower Horn (male) 11"
Flower Horn (not sure) 5"
Oscar-Albino 9"
Butti 9"

i'm now doing 20% water change every other day.
the current water reading are as follows: -

water reading are as follows:-
Ammo - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - below 20
Temp 28*C (rise of 2*C due to the UK weather)

ok. so here is the part everyone is waiting for.
i've taken some pics and also a quick vid to show how well the fish is settled. it's getting a bit late here now in the UK, so i'll try to answer any question if any body got any for me tomorrow or asap :)

Ya, not that you actually need any support. Just get tired of all the "Know it alls" chiming in when they have no idea what they are yaking about.

Terd Fergeson had a 190g with similar dimensions to your 5x3x2'. He kept a number of large cichlids in it with success before he upgraded to a 360 gallon tank.

Hopefully this link is good so the all crying will stop:D

Arowanas and Rays are not the same as cichlids.
BTW-why don't you go over to the Aro and Ray section you could do good over there :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Very good I am glad you know the difference between species, but are you suggesting that with rays and aros, bioload is not a concern?

wow... its working out..
im happy for you..
lets hope it stays that way
..
some species just work out... im not sure bout the flower horns though but i guess your FH are not that aggressive!

I love your jag!!!
i also mix many species and so far so good

i have 2 jags with africans in a 60gallon..
the bigger jag which is 3 inches.. does not even care about the africans and the other jag HATES THEM!!
hopefully the bigger one is a male and i will keep him only in the end.. my point is every fish has a different personality and it just works out sometimes! goodluck to you and may all your fish live happy healthy lives:)

Man, nice pics! I hope they do continue to work out with little problems. Hopefully any conflict will be minimal and you can keep them together. Interesting combo you got going.

Your Red Devil is actually a Midas and a nice one at that. Still doesen't change the fact that this won't work for long.:(

Hm... I don't see much midas in him. His has the thicker lips and his body is more elongated. He is most likely a hybrid between the two.
