u should go with 2 servums. i mean they need room but not every one gets to be in a single house or trade them back to the store for smaller ones when they start to get cramped

The reason everyone is getting angry is you have yet to listen to anyones advice so we've been wasting our time trying to help....NOT COOL! I agree with sick_lid reread all your old threads and see what people recommend. There is a lot you can do with a 55g just not fish that get big! There are multiple types of CA and SA cichlids that dont get over 4-5" which would be fine. Please Please Please research about and what the fish you are interested in need before you post again...... google is an amazing place!

well i guess one sev would be fine in a 55 gal for a while but, the fish i mentioned can live in the 55 comfortably your choice tho

there are loads of cichlids that would suited to a 55g. some of the larger ones that would need to be solo are:
GT (be aware you may need an upgrade if it hits over 9")
JD (same rule as per GT)
EBJD
amphilophus lyonsi
severum

these would be ok with a couple of reasonably sized catfish such as 2-3 pim. pictus.

a few that could be kept in pairs, either mated, two of the same sex or two of different species (differences in aggression taken into consideration of course):

firemouths
convicts
honduran red point
nics
salvini
sajica
rainbow cichlids
robertsoni

again with reasonably sized catfish, i wouldnt go under 3" or over 6". you could add some dithers such as giant danios or larger barbs (2-4"). i would avoid silver dollars as they get quite large.

there is then the options of a nice community with angels, kribs (african i know), rams or other dwarf cichlids.
you have no shortage of options. just remember that with some of the larger cichlids you may need to upgrade if they start pushing 9"+. if you dont have the means to upgrade to suit the larger guys should they push the upper limits of their species then avoid them and choose another.

i was thinking of putting 2 severum, geo and a chocolate cichlid in there.

Are you serious? It's like you don't listen to a single word anyone is telling you. That is way to much fish for a 55g. You keep posting these threads with combinations of random fish that are not appropriate for your tank.

What I don't understand is that in other threads you said you already have a lot of these fish. But then you start a new thread and act like you have an empty 55g tank.

If you truely want people on here to help you I would advise this. Make a complete list of your tanks and there filtration a long with every fish in your tanks. Do not skip anything from your eels, catfish, pleco etc. I remember the thread were you already had 3 fire eels, 1 chocolate, a geo, and other fish in the 55g. You need to be completely honest about what you currently have and people on here can help you straighten out what would be best for your tanks. Starting all these polls and threads about possible fish when you already have a ton of fish is only going to make people stop replying to your threads and completely stop helping. Plus you seem completely ablivious to the advice that has already been given. You should know from your other identical threads asking about different combos that your new fish list will not work. Then when people tell you they get to big you just make a new thread with another list of too many big fish.

If you are not willing to make a complete honest list of what you currently have and start trying to learn from other peoples advice then I'm not going to reply to anything else you ask. I'd suggest others do the same because you are waisting our time and not being honest with us.
