I think you would be much better off to do the reasearch yourself... pick a catfish you think will be suitable and you are interested in... Then ask for "approval" from people who have experience with that fish...

But the way things are now... there are 10,000 variables to conisder that only you know the direction of... so to give you any rational suggestions I'd have to ask you dozens upon dozens of questions... just to figure out where to start...

Doing the research is half the fun... go have fun...
 
Striped raphael, bullhead catfish, LSN just to name a few. These get to a decent size(LSN over 12 easily) and the Oscars won't bother them. Oscars are really wussies FYI. Just don't get anything smaller than them, and your usually fine.

Sure they will stay near the top when you walk in the room and hog the food, but their total puppies on the inside. :)
 
i was searching up on planet catfish and found this "pangasius macronema"

i really like the looks of paroons and this also seems to have tht shape as they come from the same river basin the mekong

does anyone hav anything about them or where to get them since they grow up to 12 inch apparently
