In the caiman den
im planning a caiman enclosure. gonna be plywood with cut outs for preformed ponds. gonna glue down thick pond liners and then glue multiple layers of landscapers plastic(waterproof, comes in huge rolls) down on top of it. need some thing to put on top. what do yall think? should be very thick to protect holes. burlap on top then dirt maybe? something like that. and yes i know durlap degrades over time.

any help would be greatly appreciated?

oh and what size should i do for a female cuviers? zoodiver said for a male 10' by 20' i was hoping to do either a 10' by 10' or a 10' by 15'. would this be ok for a female? they are supposed to get about 3 foot were a male gets 5 foot.

I dont really have any input but that sounds complicated and I wouldn't go by just one persons advice I would check other sources although that is a nice size, 10x20 and if you can do that than go for it the more space the better

yeah but that size liner really ups the price. not too bad but it does raise it a good bit. i might do that. anybody else??

I would advise to use feeding trough it may be your best bet
where I live I think its like .50$ a gallon
I have seen used water tanks made of plastic that are around 500 gallons that I always wanted to buy for a nice pond they were like 8 feet round and selling for 300 bucks and a saws all could cut the top off

All female crocodillians are more active then males and they're all also smaller but the two kinda cancel each other out so house males and female the same.

landscape fabric might work because it is difficult to tear and it doesn't degrade.

i like that idea!! might have to try that!
