Building a 310G tank with bulkhead that will overflow into a sump/wetdry. I want to put the bulheads that feed the sump about 1/3 of the way down the back wall of the tank. Will this design feed the sump when water is returned to the tank and keep the tank at a constant level as well. I know I will need a hole in the top of the arc to prevent a siphon, just forgot to draw it in. Is there a better way to accomplish this?

my guess is ur gonna need an overflow box in front of it. I saw a similar design to yours on youtube once where the bulkhead was just about where u have it, but he had an overflow box which I believe was siliconed in front of it. If I can find the vid Ill post it

This is how you need to build it. Just ignore the pipe that goes over the tank wall and connect it into your bulkhead with a 90.

He is doing a drilled aquarium. Your design will work , just have an overflow box inside. That way only a certain amount of water can be sucked up by the tube. And i would drill up a little higher so you lose a big waterfall effect your going to have. Lose the hump thing you have going on there , just do a strait drill with overflow box

i just saw if your already drilling it , why not do a clean job with an overflow box built in and then just plumb it?

i understand otherwise but he should just roll with a nice built in overflow box then just plumb it. Simple and reliable.

Because he doesn't want to surface skim. He wants to pull water from that level in the tank. There's no need for an overflow box.
