my friend thinks im an idiot, but i want to make my 6ft 100g tank into a wet dry. i was going to fill the bottom with ceramic, and about 40 gallon bucket of bioballs to start. i want to have a reeflo hammerhead gold for my pump. with this be too much flow for bb to grow? if i dont want to do a drip plate, will there be too much pressure with spray bars?

It will work but spray bars will clog so its best to use a drip tray. Because atleast with a drip tray you can have some mechanical on top and wont clog as fast.

The amount of bio balls needed depends on bio load from the fish, not the tank size.

What are you housing in the 500gal?

Drip plates can be customized to handle any amount of flow. use one for even distribution.

i want rays and p.bass and a gar. im doing a wet dry, 2 fx5 for mech, and about 20l of seachem pond matrix in the overflow boxes is my gameplan

i just dont want to buy a reeflo hammerhead gold and then valve it back to 3000 gph :(
