I am planning to keep a JD, polypterus senegalus, and a Raphael catfish in a 55g tank. Is it going to work?

Ok thanks. My JD and bichir are babies right now and the JD occasionally nips the bichir when it swims into his cave. I'm just not sure if the JD will retain his character when he grows up.
I've read here on this site about JD's eating the eyes out of other memebers bichers .. But they were larger
