I wouldn't. Clowns are very active and their constant movements may stress your discus. Plecs are better tankmates and will not bother them too much.

Don't do plecos

Could be true with the movement of the clowns, but it works fine for me. I have 4 clown loaches with my 8 discus. no problems sometimes the loaches even interact with the discus the will all school together. Discus are funny though some can get stressed very easily. I would and the additional discus fisrt then go with a school of loaches.
