I think it will be ok with your WC schedule. I don’t think it matters which continent fish are from. There’s lakes with totally different conditions on the same continent within a few miles of each other. Compatibility is most important IMO and these seem fairly compatibleHey everyone do you think this stocking will work in a 75g?
2 x delhezi bichir
5 x Thorichthys ellioti
4-6 x Arulius Barb
3 x Toxotes blythii
I already have the Dels
I do 80% water changes weekly and spot cleaning everyday
Let me know!

Yeah, I agree. If you really want it, it seems it would work. But if you have the dels, you might as well have a congo river basin biotype.
Why wouldn’t a peaceful cichlid, a surface dweller and fast schooling fish be compatible? The Delhezi most likely won’t bother anything it can’t eat. There’s no guarantees, but there’s nothing crazy with his ideahow did you determine they are fairly compatible?

Hard vs soft is over blown IMO and except for the most sensitive WC fish, most fish will be fine in the 7s. As far as feeding, it just takes a little effort. If I was able to feed my bichirs with a large Oscar and pike cichlid in the tank, they should be able to eat with anything. Most fish will also be ok in the high 70s. I kept a warmouth in my tropical tank for years. My point is there’s no absolutes and as long as someone is aware of things, I see no reason not to try if that’s what he wants unless it’s something ridiculous like discus with haps or extreme size differences or too small of a tank.well different water parameters (hard vs soft), fast vs slow, cooler vs warmer, fast eater vs slow eater etc
