Is it possible to take one of the 110 or 150g stock tanks, either the plastic or galvanized and on the flat section around it cut out and silicone a sheet of plexi glass? cut out like a 3'x16" whole and put a piece of 40"x20" plexi?

probably not. the rigid ones are stepped and the galvanized ones are corrugated (and it's not good to keep fish in a galvanized tank without a sealer) .

The main problem is that silicone will not adhere to plastics. It'll seal glass and fiberglass. For plastic (polyehtylene) bins, you'll need to install a lexan window kit like the ones sold by aquaticeco.com

dang, all the affordable ideas go up in smoke! lol

Sometimes, you have to consider the idea that if an easy and affordable DIY was possible, it would already be seen in a widespread manner. Very few 'new' DIYs are actually something that hasn't been tried before.

Ya im just trying to find something. I dont think my floors can handle over a 200g tanks so a kiddy pool is outta the question or i would use that
