Window tint backing...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sounds like a great idea :D

Hi guys! All my tanks are tinted at the sides and back. Next time i do it, i might include the floor as well. I used a certain black type which does not allow you to see through. perfect background. this works best if your tank is new as they dont have stains or scratches yet that might look ugly. (Though i also did it to my 15gal grow out.)

IMO, better than paint coz its easy to install (though you might need an assistant if your tank is longer than your arm span.)
it would'nt chip off like paint.

Easy to remove/peel-off in case you wanna change color in the future. using a razor to flake off paint may scratch your tank.

Plus, you eliminate the possibility of having uneven spots.

Very Nice pictures. That conferms a lot of the reasons I was thinking of going with tint in the frist place. Thank you.

Very cool, nice pics and Bichers :)

My buddy does it on all his tank :)

My brother had it on his tank and it looked great, and when a pile of rocks got knocked over by his turtle into the back pain of glass (I told him it would happen) the tint held to glass together, sure water still went everywhere but glass didn't.

another idea for everyone to use,

if you don't want to paint the back of the tank, cut a piece of acrylic same size of your back wall and paint that, then you can attatch it with velcro

then you can remove the back panel to inspect behind the rocks
