i'm beginning to rethink my opinion on vista....... after talking to geeksquad at bestbuy....... i added another gig of ram and bought a 4 gig disk drive...... i learned that vista has a feature where it can use your usb drive for additional ram...... which means i now got six gigs of ram running on my laptop......:nilly:

Whats the processor of that laptop ? But if you have 4GB of ram , It might be worthwhile to try Vista since WIN XP has a hard time recognizing 4 GB of ram .

Vista is pretty good if you have a machine powerfull enough to run it properly with all its features enabled. Now if you have a machine with Windows XP there is not much point upgrading to Vista you not going to gain a lot more by doing so.

Wait until you need a new machine or plan an upgrade then get a machine with Vista already running on it with at least 2 gig of ram and a good graphics card and then you can live happilly ever after :)

Windows XP will still be around in 5/6 years time ;)

never heard of a usb ram??? edit: I've seen it and doesnt seem like much...

Vista isnt that bad. I have it on a 2.4 laptop with 1gb of ram. The only thing I have trouble with is Aero.

worst thing I see with vista is the validation crap. if somethin goes crazy that shouldnt have, your system gets down graded 'til you resolve it with MS.

If you're getting a new pc/laptop, get 1gb+ of ram. If your building your own get xp til next yr.

wow....there sure a lot of haters here. I have vista on a 2ghz Core 2 Duo with 1 GB of ram and so far i haven't had any problems.

I didnt buy it for it's security features or "user friendliness", but mainly because it looks cool.

Everything so far has gone smoothly, only thing that pisses me off is the verification process. other than that, its pretty sweet.

oh and btw, i think mac os is gey.

i think they stole the majority of their ideas from MAC considering the same exact applications and style have been around MAC for awhile now....

I wouldnt get vista until they come out with the first service pack for it, Plus not everything is vista compatible yet to, so you can run into problems there as well.
