I think you guys are ok, BUT did you read his post, G.Swami i think you didnt as some of the others, i mean did you read this?

well the rtc is in with those fish for know..and he has been with them since the begining and he hasnt eaten them yet.....and if you feed your fish the right amount you dont have to worry about them goin afta the little guys just to let you know...and seeing as how the 120 is out of the question and im puttin him in his own tank by himself with just the devils, he is fine..and the 55 will be the home of my smaller firemouths and banjo cats..and i already am buying a 75 for the dempseys and pike so get ya facts straight before you come to these conclusions..and i think i would know my rtc since ive had him for about a year know..so dont start getting cocky cause you think your the grandmaster of all fish...ive been doing this hobby for a while and i know wats goin on in my tanks..and i dont overstock...becasue i have way to much filtration on my tanks..and if you have plants well a tank can self sustain itself if you do it right so im not that worried..

ohh and about the RTC i think youre right, this can be an aquarium fish but in a big one with veeeeeery big tankmates so they wont be eaten. i would also suggest you getting rid of the rtc or having it but upgrade the tank soon to a 300gal.:) i understand dovii88, dont have to get hardy plp:nilly:

Thnk you gian crlo, and as for the rtc I know he's gonna one day push the 3 or 4 foot mark. But for know he is gonna have to deal with a smaller tank, since I live in an aprtment with my mom and she isn't gonna let me have anything larger then probly 125 to maybe 150 gallons of water. And I've seen rtc in much smaller tanks...with much crappier filtration, and he is healthy and looks excellent.so for know he is dealing with his tank, and until I move he's gonna have to

No problem then;) can you post pics of your fish???? that would be nice too:drool:

Yes I did read that, It was not particularly clear, and some parts were false. I dont think anyone here thinks they are the "grandmaster" of all fish. Also, Overfiltering and overstocking are not related.you could have a 55g with another 55g sump as well as a canister filter, and you will have problems with RD's and a RTC with territory and agression. Also, Once a fish is in a new tank, all bets are off, it may very well eat the other fish. Also, just because you dont have room for the tank, why should the fish suffer? Unless you are moving very soon, I recommend you get rid of the RTC while you can. in my opinion RTC's should not be kept in the home aquarium. A tank you may thing is gigantic like a 300 or 400 gallon would not be anywhere near big enough. You say that you have seen them healthy and happy in smaller aquariums with crappier filtration... i wonder for how long it would stay happy and/or healthy. Not too long.

Oh and PS- the tank wont sustain itself if you have plants.

There are pics of my fish in the photo lounge....there not the best quality but there good enough to see...do u catch ur cichlids in the lakes near ur house..or do u get them from stores near u

If he waits a while he'll only have to take a picture of the RTC cause the rest will be in its belly:nilly:

wooooooooooooooH, I just realize that the famous RTC is what we catch here named BAGRE!!! now i have catch 30" big!!! we catch them for biiig cookouts, they are tasty but have alot of spines. they have the body of a shark with the nice red marks on the finns, but very dangerou. my uncle put the foot over it with the sandals cause the enormous fish that was recently caught was shaking like a earthquake and the dorsal finn did a hole in the sandals and made a very big and a badly injury:nilly: it was horrible! but very nice fish, and i dont think they get that big in a aquarium.

I'm pretty sure he is making fun of a particular member on this site. Or a combination of 2 members. If not then he should be banned for not having a brain:ROFL: But maybe I'm just imagining these other two members are being made fun of because my subconscious thinks they deserve it.
