wiring problem

Take the green and white strait to the plug, and switch the black
you're shorting the circuit out through the switch if I'm looking at it correctly.
 
take the white off the switch, just connect the two bare ends togather. you only want to be stopping the power through the black wire not both, think of the switch like a valve. (i learned plumbing before wireing)
 
gonna give it a shot be back in about 5-10 min.
 
As i stated in the post before your wiring diagram, you should only switch the black wire. Here is a simple wire diagram for a switch. Though it does not show a ground wire, which should be hooked to the green screw.

Nothing worked. I tried the white wire straight through the ground wire straight through and moved the black wire from one connection to the other. I am at a loss.

Am I correct on assuming the switch you have only has 2 wire terminals plus a green ground screw?

Thanks Bderick67 It finally works!!!!:headbang2 :headbang2 Now all I need is to replace the plexiglass top and It will be ready for fish!!!! I will post updates in a new thread as the build thread seems to have died.
