yeah at first there a little awkward when eating or if u hit something on them but then it just goes away..

Wisdom teeth, or third molars, usually errupt when a person is in their early twenties. Sometimes they errupt earlier than that. I was 17 when my four fully errupted third molars were removed. Third molars are the most frequently missing teeth. Some people never have any, some people have one or two, some people get all four. If there is enough space, wisdom teeth will errupt normally. If there is not enough room for these teeth to errupt, they may come in sideways, or be "impacted" where they cannot errupt. Even impacted third molars to not have to be removed, unless they become problematic. Many people do not perform adequate oral hygiene, because these teeth are "so far back there". Dental caries can then become a problem. If the teeth are so far back there that it's hard to get a toothbrush back there, a dentist is going to have an even more difficult time getting a handpiece (drill) back there to restore (fill) the tooth. If a person has enough room in their dental arch for the third molars to errupt normally, and if they are performing good oral hygiene, and there is no crowding of the dental arch, there is no reason for the third molars to be removed. Only in cases of problematic teeth or overcrowding will third molars be extracted.
So everyone, practice good oral hygiene and see your dentist on a regular basis. Perhaps you'll be a fortunate person who will keep all 32 teeth, which is the number you would have if you have all four third molars and the other 28 teeth.

I'm 15 and getting mine... 2-3 years before they're supposed to come out, my father is a dentist and he says he's never had anyone at 15 get wisdom teeth
i had all 4 ripped out when i was 18
i took no pain killers whatsoever! it didnt hurt though
i had all the banana icecream milkshakes i could drink though
I had deeply impacted wisdoms....all 4 pulled at 17 y/o and yes....worst pain ever in my life..............
drooled blood and nastyness for 1 full week....had 1 side done then the other the next month and was out of school for a full week for both sides............Thank god they are out!!!!!!!

I have to get new xrays this year to find out what is going on with them. all these stories are making me not want to find out.

Got mine out mine I was 17. They were impacted and they basically had to chisel them out of my jaw. Was asleep the whole time but when I woke up I had all these bandages stuffed in my mouth.:lipsseale Worst pain once the drugs wore off. Plus I looked like a chipmunk for a whole week.

Wisdom teeth are like any other teeth when it comes to extractions. Some come out super easy, others have to be coaxed out. How easy or difficult the extraction is going to be is dependent on the number of roots, the shape and configuration of the roots, and if the tooth is errupted or impacted.
If your dentist says it's going to be a difficult extraction, then you should go to an oral surgeon. Swelling after a difficult surgical extraction is usually due to inflammation of the tissues surrounding the extraction site.
Every tooth is different. Sometimes a tooth will come out so easily and quickly, that my patient doesn't believe the tooth is out already. If any of you are facing third molar removal, you should know that there are pain and anti-inflammatory medications that should keep you relatively comfortable following your extractions. You should call your dentist if you have pain that isn't controlled by the medications you have.
