My concern is getting Geo. Sveni from the same collection point... Jeff's were from Rio Parana and yet I have read that there are two variants of Sveni which makes things confusing especially because I have 6 gorgeous Sveni from Rio Parana and as such I want the same variant due to my desire to try and breed these beauties... Having Geo. Sveni from different parents would be great for Gene pool breeding purposes.

Why does the name Sveni get attached to two different collection locations?
 
I have not seen anyone in the US bring in anything other than the Parana location. The only person I know who brought in the other location is Oliver Lucanus in Canada and you won’t stumble across his fish accidentally.

Geophagus is the genus, sveni is the species. A species is a species. A species can appear in many different places. There would have to be some significant biological differences to warrant recognizing them as separate species.
