How early can you tell if you might have a pair? You all know my Orinos are quite small yet 5 inches or so. Well this morning I caught two of them rubbing side by side in the corner alone :naughty:. The one then did this little movement like it was swimming but not, more or less appeared as it was pooping or dropping eggs but obviously wasn't. I'm not to familiar with mating and all that but I do know they are nowhere near ready but is it possible they are in love lol :screwy:. IDK. Any one seen this behavior at such a young age?

upto 8" is the juvi stage, you can only expect any breeding at 12" and above, mine started breeding at 14" female and 18" male.

Yeah sorry to break it to you but they're not breeding it's Definetly off behavior but not breeding

Oh I totally know they aren't breeding or anything like that lol. I just don't know if they show signs of the possibility early that's all. Just there wierd rubbing was odd this morning

Sounds like horseplay to me. There's always a dueling pair out of every set I've grown out, and they'd start doing that at that size. Glad that pbass don't get super serious about that the same way other cichlids do.

Oh yeah mine have had there moments. They have actually lip locked a few times already nothing to serious though they stop after a few seconds lol. This was more friendly To be honest. These two never fight it's always the other ones. But yeah no one ever fights to bad.
