13 feet?no problem-as they grow they will automatically grow in an "S" pattern to form to the tank.
 
I have a four foot one in my 72 gallon i hear its going to stay that size cus its the size of my tank, i feed it 5 goldfish a day
 
i think you can keep one in a modest tank, since it's common knowledge that fish will grow no larger than the tank that it's in. so if you want the fish to grow more, just get a bigger tank. if you're satisfied with the size of the fish, don't change tanks. that's all there is to it.

I finally got four of gigas and they love play with my freshwater bamboo sharks and pink lipstick heartlove parrots. ;)
