 you know this pleiozona can be caught in boliva so unless they have outlawed exportation of cichla i dont see why we couldn;t get one.:D

rapps had them on order right before he brought his first batch of kelberis in but no one wanted them so he didn't import them.

this is an understatement! everyone is entitled to their own opinion and what is personally pleasing to one's eyes may not be pleasing to another. Personally fogos are doodoo and platniums are ugly... i kid you not. ;)

very interesting OPINION of yours... :D There is my reason I don't get too excited about them.
so if fogo become available to the hobby, you will NOT try to have one?

nope bolivia and brazil only.

:D I was talking to a photographer from New York who takes pictures for European expeditioners in Bolivia. He agrees to bring some "tucunare" from Bolivia next month through his contact in bolivia named Jean-Paul Sanchez who you can google to find out. It is such as troublesome to go through import/export especially for this species of cichla. If you are sincerely interested to go thru the process for your dream fish, I will give you contact info. BTW Sanchez is the ONLY exporter in Bolivia permitted to export cichla. There were tons of this species brought out from Bolivia, mostly went to Switzerland and indirectly ended up in Germany. :D
Good luck.

I believe it's the same as Cichla monoculus "Mazan". I have seen it on a german website.

honestly nope.. fogos look like a mix of an orino and pinima, personally not appealing to me. that red throat and breast only gets red during breeding..
