Have NO clue about Wobbegong temperment. Would it be possible to mix one of these sharks with some larger species of Morays?

Say the shark is 2.5' and the eels 2-3'

What would I have to do to make it work?

Thanks guys.

Should be fine.. just need some live rock for the dragon to hide in. I've kept rays and sharks together for about five years. Never had a problem... I miss them a lot, please post pics if you do it. Gl brother

My wobbie is a TERROR. He's eaten several HUGE groupers. They are definitely skilled ambush predators, and VERY fast.

Ah totally read that one wrong :screwy:

I would make sure the eel is at least a foot longer than the wobby

I allready can't have fish, as the Dragon that's almost 3 foot has eaten the only fish I ever tried. I figured if 8-9 inch tall Monos went down the hatch then I'm gonna need some huge fish in order not to be eaten. It ate Groupers as well before the Monos. The Monos I had raised from the size of a quarter and converted over to salt casue I figured they'd be way too tall and much too fast for Nibblez. Wrong.

Current setup is a 180. Could the wobby work in there for a while? What would you guys recommend as far as a tank for life?

With a Wobby being an ambush predator is it safe to assume it could be kept in a much smaller tank then a normal shark would need?

NO - for a smaller wobby, you need at least 800 gallons for a young one, and then up from there. It also largely depends on the type of wobbegong.

My moray, well much larger than yours, was kept with smaller bamboo sharks and horns. They where only 15-18in and the moray didn't like the taste of shark, even though he could swallow all of them at the same time. I would go that route and eventually upgrade to bigger foot print to house them for life when the time is needed. The issue that you have is most of the stuff that is to large for your moray to eat is to large for your tank.

I bought shark meat at the asian market and my eel would not come close to eating it. So I chanced the horn shark and it worked out well.

Tell that to the guy currently housing it in a 135.

It's better off with me then where it's at.

800 gallons for an ambush predator that tops out at 41 inches on a good day eh?

I'd almost swear I was asking about MBU puffers. :irked:
