Mars (uk)
I came down stairs this morning , as any otherday just got into the room to cheack on my fish , my heater has manged to unplug its self :( , ive lost aloud of fish, i manged to save my true parrot fish (witch im happy about) and 3 convicts, but ive lost loads of fishes :irked:,
2 x apollo sharks @ 7 inch
2 blood parrots @ 4" and 2"
1 x huge whiptail pleco at 5.5 inch
1 x clarrius catfish (was my girl :( ) at 8.2 inch , (she was also going gold all over, lethustic i think u call it.
1 x convicts male 4 inch
and my marble goby is just about alive but i dont think he'll make the night , hes just about breathing.

so in my tank now ive got 4 fish :/ and 3 of them are convicts! The only nice fish i have left is my true parrot fish thats 6-7 inch.

looks like this is an excuse to resock though. but still gutted about the catfish and goby as the gobys are stupidly rare over here :~(.

-some pictures will be up in the week-

Anyone eles been having bad look ?

Wow.. sounds horrible...

That happened to me ones. The plug to the air filter and heat came loose.

Lost my breeding pair of albino discus and 2 Queen Arabesque... :(

sucks,i just had an anemone meet a powerhead....feel your pain

Man, that sucks. Almost happened to me about a month ago. I was watching my tanks just before bed and noticed the one tank, all the fish were hiding and sluggish. It took me about 15 minutes to figure out that it was an unplugged heater. I was freaking out, thinking that my fish were sick and thought for sure I would loose some. But I got lucky, and after plugging it in woke the next morning to a bunch of happy fish,

I unplug my heaters during every water change. One day i left them unplugged overnight. No losses but fish were not happy. Now i hang the heater cords on the front of the tank when i unplug them. Makes it impossible for me to miss

And my gobys died now , at 7 inches :( , he was like super rare over here cost me an arm an a leg , owell , restocking time i geuss !, but thanks guys it sucks when this happens.

That sucks, how long had it been unplugged? I lost a fish in a similar manner although my heater didn't stop it just was not strong enough for the icy winter basement, I was not checking the temp every day so I didn't notice until a fish died.

How cold did your tank get before you noticed?

I thought it was warm on mars... only kidding of course hoping to lighten mood.

What I do to prevent that, as I have had the same issue; is to have my water pumps and heater plugged into the same power strip. This way I turn off the power strip to do the change, that way I can't forget to turn the heaters on.

that sux
