Woke up this morning and went to feed my pbass only to find out he gained some interesting markings.....white spots.

I have never dealt with ich and went a got some medicine from the LFS. I put the temp to 87 and added 1tsp per 10 gallons and will continue this for 4-5days, but I still have a few questions

1) Do you need to turn filtration off?

2) Do you stop all feeding until ich is no longer present?'

3) Do you perform the big WC before, during, or after the ich?

Thanks for the help, knew my luck was running out

If you are using the medication, follow the wc schedule on the bottle.

Dont use the medication man. Just turn the temp up to 89F and add aquarium salt. Do a water change every day or every other day. Some ich medications will make your fish blind, so be careful.

One teas of salt per 10 gallons is not enough....add 4 Tablespoons per 10 gallons.....16x as much!! And dont add every day...salt does not evaporate. You remove it with regular water changes. I would keep 1 Tablespoon per 5 gallons all the time to keep your fish healthy!

day 1= add 2-3 deg and 1 teaspoon of salt per 1 gal, 12 hours later another teaspoon of salt per 1 gal.
Day 2= add 2-3 deg and 1 ts of salt per 1 gal

this time your temp should be around 86-88 F at and there should be 3 teaspoon of salt per gal. keep this steady for 1 week. ICK BE GONE

I've used quick cure on the two occasions of Ick outbreaks in my numerous years of fish keeping with great success.

It is cheap and I still own the fishes, they were not blinded. :)
