careful with medication. small cichla are very sensitive to ich medicine. I've always just bumped the temp and added aquarium salt. also remember to bump up your aeration!
I've only used medication on cichla when the ich outbreak has gotten out of hand and it's a last resort kind of deal, and even then i only use 1/2 the recommended dosage. there are a few meds that ppl often recommend but i forget which.
