Wolf fish gill curl

Can someone help me or tell me what to do, the soft clear par of gill looks like its turned inside out just on one gill, water has been fine but he has stopped eating and only think I can think of is I had a heater fail about a month ago and it was in the low 70 for temp I've heard of gill surgery?

It doesn’t look too bad. Gill curl usually from bad water and cramped tanks. Try treating the cause and hopefully it doesn’t get worse. If it starts to expose the gill and it gets irritated then a vet would be needed. Seen diy gill curl on YouTube. Just gotta be comfortable doing it with clove oil for sedation.

Ok if it does stay the same do I cut slits horizontally or cut that folded part right off?

If u still want to cut it off then sedate the fish with clove oil and cut the folded part. That’s what I’ve seen. Can’t say on horizontal cuts.
