Not a really clear jaw shot but it's appearing a V shape line, it's a mala. It's a nice wolf for sure but most of us refer Curupira or Aimara because of their activity in our tank, mala is famous with lazy behave until food present in the tank otherwise they all awesome species to keep and raise them up :p

Its my first wolf so im not going to be too picky lol. Im used to lazy fish seeing that i mainly keep bichirs lol. As long as i get some enjoyment i will be happy. Will malas tolerate tankmates or is it better to keep them solo? Also what is the growth rate like on them?

They'll tolerate tankmates. Just as long as they are too big to be eaten. Bichirs usually have no problem cohabing with Wolves. Always depends on the temperment of the wolf.

Other members here keep their wolf with Bichirs and other mid/top level swimming species and everything look fine and healthy. As for the growth rate these wolf grow extremely fast with good water and diet...you would see at least 1 inch or more a month for the first year of age.

Hes in a 30g at the moment, i will probably keep him in here until about 6-7". then i will probably try him in my 75g bichir growout until hes big enough for my 150g

Awesome. I probably wont try him in the tank with my odoe and cichla but my gar and bichir 75 should be a good fit for him after he grows a bit.

Bought it as a "Peruvian Green" and was just wondering which type that is. From what I've been reading it appears to be a Lacerdae? Im new to wolf fish but it does not look like a mala to me and definitely not a rainbow. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Hey Cody do you guys have anymore of those??????
