Collection point plays a big role in identification. If the person doesn't know the collection point it's most likely a mala without a underside shot of the jaw even necessary. Color and pattern aren't always a reliable way to ID them

I have no idea what it is.... lol.

I'm not real good with Wolves. I rely on the guy I buy them from to know what they are..... lmao.

I didn't think malas had the lil hump head type shape going on, but I've also never owned one so not sure what lil ones look like.
 
How much did you pay for it? Where did it come from? What was it sold as? Do you trust the source you got it from to know what it is?

I don't think he has to tbh. Not trying to sound negative or anything but if he doesn't know the collection point or if it was previously labeled as a black wolf there's a 98% chance it's a mala. A underside pic of the jaw would be a good confirmation of ID too but don't really think it's necessary. He's a cute little guy though have fun with him man

99% I think. It goes through to many hands that are looking hard to find that expensive fish in with the other common varieties. Hard to slip a black wolf by that many people that know their fish.
