Wolf fish keepers...help plz.....

^ Zap mines at 7.5 and ive seen some measured up to 9 inch!! I dont think anything but a fully grown jar or silver could really take it out. A black might be a good idea, theyre mouths are smaller then that of jardini and silver, superficially at least. Mine has gone from 3 inch to 7.5 in less then a year.

Gobys work, my buddy keeps a marbled w/ his red wolf and they leave each other alone. Theyre also really into silvery fish, so if you put a silver aro that was too small the red might be able to eat it or kill it. Be careful about fish that move a lot, ive had to slowly acclimate my own red wolf to moving fish and in the process hes killed and partially eaten 5 giant danio, a 4 inch heckelli threadfin, and a small ropefish (still was longer then the wolf). Dont underestimate these guys. Also make sure you have a tight lid and put things over the heater holes and such.

Bichirs are great IME as tankmates for red wolves, especially if kept with them from a small size. My red piles w/ my bichirs

So be careful, dont be afraid to lose some attempted tank mates, and make sure the lid is on AT ALL TIMES. If i leave mine off when im refilling the water change cooler he jumps. Every time.

Be very careful w/ your fingers, ive heard rumors that full grown red can take fingers off. I doubt anyone on here wants to test that

I think my mala could take a finger if he really wanted to I've trying to get him used to me more by using tongs to feed him like hand feeding and he's left pretty good teeth marks in the rubber.

Same here zap n doomi , especially when mine got past the 6 inch mark with ease haha. Maybe its because they're a handful people don't just keep them long enough in large enough of a tank to get them to that size. Mines went from a 30 ga that he was in from 3-4 inch, then a 55 that he was in from 4-5 inch, now in the 70 he's up to 7.5 at the moment. Growing quick still, loves worms, freeze dried anything, tilapia, floating and sinking hikari pellet and the occasional tank mate haha

Damn that must be and ery thing cause I can't pellet train my mala for crap. The only way he eats em is if they are stuffed in his food.

He hits anything that gets dropped in the tank so that might be why haha, he used to spit them back out but hes been eating em for a solid month or 2

He shows interest for a second but once he sees the pellets just swims away doesn't even attempt to eat them
