Wolf groups....... Does everything change?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This is my speculation. Can't tell if it's atf or another wolf. The one on the body looks ATF. Looks like made by a scalpel, being bery linear. The ones underneath look like holes and maybe some tearing and being under and lower suggest more of a wolf bite. I assume ATF will come from above.

I don't think wolves will school together and attack like piranha.

When smaller I think they'll group together like golds for protection against a bigger fish. Probably some squabble and overlap of territory and attitudes.

If it gets beat up more maybe can separate for a bit and let it heal up and return to the main tank.

I think ur maybe the only one with this many varied wolves In a tank.

The Intermedius had to be pulled from this tank. The thing is really touchy, if not happy doesn't eat. Have to keep the weanie alone for now... lol. So there's the 4 CF Panara Lac/Iguaza/Mbigua and the Aimara for wolves (only 2 species in this tank). Down to 2 Tatf in the tank (Tigers are bigger then the wolves), 2 Masheer and a huge Knife, few rays, few Irwinni.

They didn't think ATF were pack hunters either, but that's been proven wrong..... Maybe these guys cohab same waters as larger wolves so schooling gives them a better chance at survival?

Tigers teeth are bigger than wolves teeth, correct me if I'm wrong? And the wolves don't always stay at the bottom, which would give an atf a chance to strike from below. Just another perspective.

Depends on the size of the ATF. Gotta looks those teeth and compare.

If the tigers are bigger then I'd expect them to stay toward the bottom and not be mid water. It's a disadvantage for them. Not too nimble but another thought.

Think that small wolves will group together to avoid getting picked off. Kind of like the lions and wildabeasts.

Ive seen gold wolves school very tight in some videos on YouTube. But I also notice large pbass around and some large hoplias species too. So I think it's that kind of thing.

For now they are separated and safe.

Well my odoe and wolf been fighting here and there the last two days and the wolf took a bite at him. You can sort of see the shape. Sorry I don't have a fancy camera just phone pics, but in person you can see the complete roundness and puncture. And you can see the wolf comes from under. On the wolf you can see the odoe comes from above. I've witnessed them in the dark and the wolf is like a great white going up after prey. They are around the same size both about a foot give or take a little. The curu has more girth however.

Damn! Is that a mala?

To take the tail clean off like that...has to be another wolf?

Sorry for your loss bro.

Oh boy.....so sorry!

Wow at that sight! That is exactly the same type of damage my black berry silver dollars died from.. Never figured out if it was from my vatf/Gatf or Mala..
