Hey guys, I’ve noticed my little 3” common wolf is not in his usual cave and is hovering at the waterline and occssionnly darts to the other side of the tank. Before he was doing this, I noticed a cut/abrasion on his side. All other fish in the tank are completely fine. Any and all help needed!!!

Post ur water parameters. List of tankmates? Swimming normally?

Consider removing it to a qt tank for a while to watch and reduce stress. If not able then provide some floating plants and dim the lights.

Ran out of test strips last week and was planing to pick some up tomorrow. I’ll get that done first thing. Tankmates are two other 2” JD, a small school of danios as dithers, and two 3” geophagus who mind to themselves. He doesn’t appear to be swimming too odd besides the fact he is actually swimming/hovering at the waterline. I’ve never him move unless it was to eat.

Don’t want to jinx anything but he is back to his normal hiding spot. He’s not breathing heavy nor at the surface. I’ll give updates.

Last question as of now, is there anything I should do to treat the cut/abrasion/missing scales or just let time heal it?

Clean water should heal it up.
