I wouldn't bother with mace or air horns (seems like it would just make em mad).
Damn, how old were you when your brother tazed you?I just reviewed most of the bear attack info I could find.
As for chasing the bear,I was 9 or 10 and there was a 200 pound black bear,so I chased it(wimpy thing ran away!).
As for mace I know it would piss me off(my stepbrother tazedme once, that made me take it away and taxes him a couple times).
Yow.....did you fall out of the chair and onto the floor?About 15,I was eating at the table when he ambushed me.
No I didn't fall out of the chair.Yow.....did you fall out of the chair and onto the floor?
Damn took it strong huh?....I have seen videos of people just falling over and convulsing after being tased. No I didn't fall out of the chair.
Interesting, and something to keep in mind if I should go camping or hiking anywere bears are known to be.Yeah it would piss me off too! hahaha
Bears have one of the most complex olfactory systems (smell) of all the mammals. I've seen many videos of bears coming into contact with mace on hunting shows, youtube, nat geo, ect.
The mace overloads their scent glands (which cover the majority of the inside of their snout) causing extreme pain. (just like humans but many times worse) Even a small whiff will send a bear running away, a direct hit in the face will cause a sensory overload and many times the bear will become lethargic or even pass out from the pain.
You might get one shot with a gun and it would have to be a pretty good shot to stop a charging bear.
Or...you could have an absolutely terrible shot with the mace but you'll still stop that bear in it's tracks.
Either way...I bring both though!
